This year I got the cover of the magazine of the Ellas special edition. It will be out tomorrow.

I had a blast during this session, m is such a nice girl and so is her mom. And just look at those eyes! it was a very hot day but even with all the humidity m was a very good sport ans was up for everyhting.

This beautiful girl is Amalia. I had the pleasure of photographing her with Chelanos, her horse, yesterday. A needed some photos for the Debutantes but instead of a mini session with boring head shots, we decided to do a full session where we could capture her and her passion.  A was a great model but Chelanos got standing ovation!! the best behaved horse ever. I think he loved my camera, and he really did, he even wanted to eat it! At the end of the session they showed me what they can do together!

I have a new passion! Street Photography! even though I know I need to improve a lot my method, it has become one of my all time favorite kind of photography.  I just find if fascinating to capture what is right there, in front of me, with any intervention. Anyways, as I keep improving, here are a few I had shot recently in the old part of the city.

Her 3 beautiful granddaughters

A week ago we headed to the beach to shoot this beautiful family. I met the girls at our consultation so when we met for the pictures we were already friends. Mom did an awesome job picking out the clothes for all their changes, I loved all of them and how they looked with all the corners we found to shoot. It was a very very windy and hot day but the sea was perfect. So we headed to the beach firs to have some fun, after resting a bit we moved to another location to get some green photos.  Both girls were very good models, they have completely different personalities! At the end of the shoot we were all exhausted but it was so worth it. We had a lot of fun and got some awesome pictures. It was very hard to pick a few faves to post here because I have so  many favorites, here they are.

“Y” thanks for sharing your beautiful family with me, it was great working with all of you. I am thrilled that you loved your photos.

This beautiful ballerina is “A” She is 9 years old and a very good dancer! But she’s not only a good dancer but also a beautiful girl full of energy and personality. “A” just  won a  very important dance competition where she impressed all the judges and the other dancers as well.  She is very gracious and you can see how she loves to dance in everyone of her moves.

To celebrate her triumph, her mom and dad treated her with this Photo Shoot where she wore her dance tuts and her favorite clothes. We had a blast spending the afternoon with her, her BFF D and her mom.

And just in case you were wondering why A is so pretty,  take look at this photo with her beautiful mom, stunning isn’t she?

Our second stop was Bonaire a small Island in the Dutch Caribbean. As we were approaching to the dock a beautiful rainbow greeted us, then another rainbow appeared so we had this spectacle of double rainbow.

Bonaire is a small and colorful island, it reminded me a lot of the Island of Cozumel in the Mexican Caribbean back when I used to visit it with my parents when I was growing up; but one things that was different and that really amazed me was that the island, other than great beaches, has a desert with lots of cactuses. As soon as we left the ship we went to Sorobon beach where the entertainment is snorkeling and windsurfing. We spent the day there enjoying the beautiful ocean, snorkeling, relaxing and shooting of course.

Bye Bye Bonaire!

During my visit to Cartagena I shot a bit of street photography here are a few of my faves.

Last week I took a vacation with my family. We went on a cruise  to 4 different ports in the Caribbean and had a GREAT time. The ship was great, we made lost of new friends mostly form Chile, Argentina and Brazil.  Of course part of my vacation was taking tons of pictures of the new places we visited, so I will be sharing photos by port.

Our first stop was Cartagena, Colombia. Cartagena is a very nice city where modern and old mix everywhere you turn. It reminded me a lot of Panama. The old city is all surrounded by a wall, hence its name of La Ciudad Amurallada. The city is all full of colors and textures, amazing doors, balconies and windows. And also tin sculptures of all sorts. We walked through the old city and afterwards went for a ride through the modern city. The only thing that was really annoying was all the people trying to sell you anything and everything! even though we told them we were not interested in buying, they started to follow us and giving the kids the products so we had to pay for them. Really annoying
